John
Alaniz was born on May 23, 1961, in Delaware. He was born to a
military family and spent his childhood in several different military
communities, including South Carolina and Panama. In 1968, the Alaniz family settled in Austin, Texas, where John spent the remainder
of his childhood.
After high school, John began attending a junior college. Two
years later he received an Associates Degree and was offered a job by
Texas Instruments (TI) in College Station. John agreed to work
with TI and promptly enrolled at Texas A&M, working towards an
engineering degree. In 1985, John was transferred by TI to the
Temple branch, where he still resides today.
John is a family man. He and his wife Ruby, a long time teacher in
the Temple Independent School District, has been happily married for
twenty-one years. They are the proud parents of three children: Trevor
(18), Nicholas (16), and Heidi (11).
John is the founder and president of Corporate Facilities Management
Services, LLC (CFMS), which is based in Temple, Texas. CFMS is rapidly
becoming a leading outsource solution for the management and operation
of property, facilities, and assets. The business has served some
of Central Texas' largest business and governmental institutions with a
highly experienced and professional staff. Established in 2001,
the company reported gross revenue of over three million dollars in the
first five years.
For years, John has been an integral part of his community. John
created a program called “Illuminate to Motivate” for middle school
students in the Temple ISD. For three years, he has been inspiring kids
throughout central Texas to discover and develop the unique gifts God
has given each individual. He teaches hard work and challenges
kids to overcome obstacles through a job shadowing program. Just
one example of many, John was instrumental in bringing Jaime Escalante
to Central Texas, the story of whom inspired the movie Stand and
Deliver. Many students throughout America lack the vision to
succeed; this is something John is working hard to change both
personally and politically.
In addition to his leadership in "Illuminate to Motive," John
has served as a State Representative for the March for Jesus Ministry,
Chair of the Hispanic Leadership Council, and Football Representative of
the Belton Booster Club. He has also worked with the J.A.I.L Ministry,
Temple Education Foundation, CARE Network, and the Temple Chamber of
Commerce. Currently, John is a Board Member of the Texas Association of
Business, the Central Texas Workforce, and the Servant Leadership
Institute of Central Texas. He also is a member of the King's Daughter
Hospital Association and the Temple Independent School District's
Advisory Task Force. John has served as a church deacon and elder at a
local church in Temple.
John and his family are active members of the Body of Christ in Central
Texas.
