John strongly supports life. He believes in passing "right to life"
legislation that protects both the unborn and those adults deemed
"unwanted".
Free enterprise was designed to be the cornerstone of our economy.
However, taxation from federal and state governments has worked against
this basic freedom. John will work to reduce the size of government,
specifically as it relates to taxation. He will fight for tax relief
and reform for each Texan.
No other topic is as important to our future as the issue of education. Our
children are our future, and we must be diligent to accurately and
adequately educate each child. John will strongly defend parental rights to
educate children using the best method for the child.
John’s number one immigration priority is to secure our borders.
This is more than an immigration issue; it is a national security issue. If
the federal government will not solve this problem, then Texas must do it at
the state level. Immigration is also an economic security issue.
Until the immigration process has been modernized, citizenship should not be
offered outside the current Naturalization Laws. John supports
legislation that emphasizes the screening of foreign workers and creates
disincentives for illegal immigration. The rule of law must be upheld by
establishing a clear, sensible, market-driven system of temporary workers
that is efficiently and vigorously enforced.
Private property rights are a fundamental freedom
established by our Founding Fathers.
In recent years, these rights have come under attack from government. Today, the courts have redefined eminent domain to include the seizing of
private property for non-governmental activities. In addition, government has devalued property through regulations without
compensating property owners and raised taxes to capture private lands. Career politicians will not make the laws necessary to protect private
property from government consumption. John Alaniz will represent the interests of property owners in Austin
through reduced property taxes, school finance reform, and limiting the use of
eminent domain.
Our Founding Fathers included the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights to
allow each American to protect and provide for himself and his family. John
strongly advocates this foundational freedom and will work to protect each
Texan's right to bear arms.
Texas must become the greatest place to do business in the
world. John Alaniz supports measures that foster economic and job
growth with a skilled workforce. In addition, he promotes the
production of adequate supplies of all forms of energy.
